Our FUE Experience

Our FUE Experience

Since Dr. Ray Woods first used it in Australia 20 years ago, "follicular unit extraction" has been a part of the hair restoration industry. Although the technique was instantly obvious as being minimally invasive, it was considered that the process was too sluggish and technically challenging to transfer into the sort of outcomes that strip excision and microscopic dissection were able to produce.

Follicular unit transplantation, in which enormous strips of donor scalp could be sliced exactly under direct vision using stereoscopic microscopes, was cutting-edge at the time. It appeared to be virtually flawless, with yields of over 98 percent! In the right hands, the donor scar was almost undetectable and rarely a problem.

We developed approaches at Hasson and Wong by using custom-sized recipient sites, super dense packing, mega sessions, and the lateral slit technique. We were able to obtain exceptional outcomes using these approaches, which became known as "ultra refined transplantation."

H&W exhibited an unheard-of 25 patients during the live patient viewing in 2004 at the 12th conference of the ISHRS in Vancouver (usually one patient is displayed). We conducted procedures on all of these patients using our methods. The editor emeritus of Hair Transplant Forum International wrote in the next edition of the journal's review:

The patients of Drs. Victor Hasson and Jerry Wong will remain an unforgettable image in my mind as a result of this encounter. On Friday afternoon, they were demonstrated at the Live Patient Viewing. It would be an understatement to say that the results were "mind-blowing." Imagine a young man with type 5 baldness who has had over 5,000 FU's extracted and planted in ONE SESSION and is growing to near-perfect perfection. Not only are they growing, but they're also being planted at up to 80 grafts per square centimetre, providing the illusion of entirely normal hair density and direction, with no 'crinkle' and only a 1-2mm donor scar. The rest of us will take a long time to catch up to Jerry and Victor's abilities, as well as their amazing team of assistance. A word of warning to those who were as taken aback as I was. Please do not return home; instead, cut a 152-centimeter strip and begin planting 5,000 FUs at a rate of 80 or even 40 per square centimeter. This is something you and your team may want to strive for, but please, please, please, please, please, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE Even if you've been inserting grafts for over 40 years, it takes a miracle of coordination and experience to be able to conduct such a treatment.

We have continued to regularly deliver the most spectacular outcomes of any type of hair restoration therapy offered anywhere in the globe since that encounter.

Technology And Time

Everything evolves with time and technology. We've been keeping a close eye on improvements in the FUE area, buying newer equipment as it becomes available and putting it through its paces. We have a solid working connection with ethical physicians who are doing cutting-edge work in the field of FUE.

Dr. Jose Lorenzo and Dr. Koray Erdogan's work in Europe has come the closest to the level of work that we desire to create. We were able to instruct previously competent personnel in manual extraction procedures with their help. For the past two years, we have gradually increased the amount of FUE surgeries we conduct.

To get to where we are now has been a smooth, steady, and spectacular journey. The only time we took a detour was when we bought the Artas Robot. We rapidly observed that hand harvesting grafts resulted in a considerably greater rate of quality and efficiency. In addition, we were able to depart the donor location with far less damage than the robot. This boosted the proportion of healthy grafts that could be collected from the donor location in subsequent treatments if needed, as well as the patient's ability to wear his or her hair short without showing any traces of the procedure. Our outcomes have generally improved to the point that they are indistinguishable from those of our strip surgery!!!

Options

As a result, we currently live in a world where two distinct technologies are yielding equally amazing outcomes.

As a result, our patients may now select the technique that best meets their needs. However, it raises a new conundrum: what technique to use and for whom?

Every person seeking a hair restoration surgery should be aware of the benefits of each technique before deciding which one is best suited to their specific needs.

However, regardless of approach, it is significantly more vital to find the best clinic to ensure the greatest potential outcomes.

Every clinic should treat their operation as if it were a work of art. If they are proud of their work, it should be presented in their gallery in super high resolution. Each individual hair should be visible as it exits the scalp. High-definition videos are quite beneficial. If there are any galleries with low lighting or resolution, this is not the clinic for you.

Always remember to research, research, research.
